A Little Motivation from Technology

I have been struggling to get started with a product I’m creating.  As I mentioned before, I love the feel of just old fashioned pen and paper to sketch out ideas.  However, I got a little motivation with some cool techno tools that I had around:  my iPad and my Amazon.com Stylus.

I bought the stylus to use with my Kindle, because I would never use it with my iPad, right?  Well, let me tell you how the marriage of the iPad and the stylus and a nifty app called simply, Paper, can inspire and motivate!

I’ve run amok with drawing mindmaps and sketches and just getting my thoughts out on Paper.  The app lets you create a number of notebooks so I can keep each project organized in its own notebook.  So as I’m sketching out topics for my next  ebook, or simply my next great idea, I reduce the actual amount of paper that I’ve been using lately.

While I’m at it, there is another little app that I have called MagicalPad.  It’s also pretty good at helping me capture the ideas that I get using mindmaps and notes.  But, what I found is that, I’m slowed down typing and clicking to add boxes – and I just feel so…organized when using it. I’m just a disorganized person.

However, with Paper I feel free scribbling, drawing, ERASING, coloring and just doing brain dumps…and being green at the same time.

Are there any techno toys that you use for motivation? Please share!

Hi Gwen,

This is just fantastic. I had no idea this kind of app existed. The fact that you can also organize the sketches into notebooks is also so appealing.

I also tend to start with paper and pencil, and keep my old notebooks for reference to my solo brainstoming sessions.

You’ve just solved the paper notebook mobility problem!

Thanks for sharing.

Ahhh, technology. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It’s great when it works, but when the power shut off last week during thunderstorms, the first thing I did was grab a pencil and notepad.

Some things NEVER go out of style!

Thanks for the info.
