In response to Mike's comment:

Hi Mike,

Thanks so much for stopping by. Yes, you will definitely want to create a separate sales page with it's own domain. On this page you want to really sell your product, and state the benefits to the buyers and testimonials, any screenshots, sample table of contents, etc. Whatever you can do to sell it. So that's why you want to dedicate a single page to it, and also so your potential buyers wont get distracted by anything else. You can then put a link, ad or even the ecover itself on your blog to promote it.

I gained my experience by learning from John Thornhill. He will walk you step-by-step from researching your product to launching and promoting it and selling it on ClickBank in his MasterClass. I was in his coaching program a number of years ago.

I hope this helps!
Thanks for visiting,
Gwen

Do you create a separate sales page with its own domain or just use an existing site/blog that you already have? This is something I'm interested in tackling. Where did you gain the experience for launching a prodcut?

Hi Yvonne,

Its a lot of work for sure! But when its all over, it's like you made it over a hump, and that's truly a great feeling. And yes, much of it can be outsourced - I HIGHLY recommend having eye catching graphics outsourced! Some things we just shouldn't do for ourselves when business is concerned LOL.

Thanks for visiting,

Hi Melanie,

Yes, at this point, like Yvonne said in her comment, much of this can be outsourced, especially graphic and article/blog post writing. Even just 1 or 2 articles can help out affiliates. But some just don't do it - then again maybe they don't know that they should.

Thanks for visiting,
Gwen

It's great to read the logical steps and aspects required for a successful e-book launch, Gwen, and yes, it is a lot of work, but it is so worth it in the end. One of the things I've come to appreciate is that I do not have to know how to do everything; a lot of it can be outsourced at affordable rates. Thanks, Gwen; great post.

Oh, this is juicy, Gwen!

Even though I haven't created any of my own products yet, I'm certainly going to remember and refer to this post when I do.

I'm an avid affiliate marketer and I totally support you on #4. If I want to sign up to promote someone's product and they haven't created any top notch, convenient, easy peasy tools for me to use ... I'm gone! It only makes good business sense. And if I'm going to expect other people to promote my products or services, I certainly can't expect them to create all the promotional materials. Why should they?

Wonderful info,
Melanie

you hit the nail on the head here. Starting with #1, you aren't going to get any sales without an effective well written piece of copy. I am sure there are a lot of gems out there that on one knows about..
