What’s Your Addiction?

Here is a link to an article I found while checking my hotmail for the, probably 105th time today. It’s about America’s most unusual addictions.

Most Unusual Addictions

What’s funny about this article is that just last week I was thinking that there must be some “sickness” or so with avid readers. The ones who can’t help but pull out a book or paper, even if they are just standing still at a stop light for a minute or two. And Voila! Reading can be an addiction for some! It’s amazing – I’m sure you probably know someone who really, really likes to read and you always see them with a book. But have you met anyone who really really REALLY loves to read? Well, I have – it got to the point where it was annoying (and not because I, personally, am not a fan of reading).

This guy read EVERYTHING. When I first met him, he told me “I like to read”. I though cool, everyone has their hobbies. But it wasn’t until I saw him read EVERYTHING, and out loud I must add, that I realized this was serious. Here are some examples…

Driving in the car, he read every sign off the buildings: “Public Library. Hmmm Domino’s Pizza. Oh, Millburn Train Station. Hmmmmmm Wal-mart.” Then he read signs “Stop. Enter.” What’s worse is he would read things inside the car: “Volume.” This is no joke! I always thought he was a little off, but I see I should have been more sensitive – it was just an addiction :) And I also know a bunch of the “crack-berries” as well.

What I found interesting is that they didn’t have listed an addiction to email (I say this as I go to check my Hotmail for the 106th time today)….
