I don’t know why I do it all the time, but I sometimes just can’t resist a seemingly good offer from internet marketers – especially “bundles” of products. Every time I am less than thrilled by what I’ve been offered. But I still insist on buying them. Now, this one product in particular just seemed too good to be true (I won’t mention it to protect the innocent!), and of course we all know “if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
The offer was a certain number of high quality and researched “video products” for a low price. Very nice, I love reviewing how others produce training so to me this was a great deal. The sales page, while not giving much detail, show the ecovers of full courses. Let’s say the marketer was offering…umm 200 “videos products”. So, from the sales page I thought I was getting 200 courses, because he chose to put up maybe 5 full courses on the sales page which were supposed to be representative of the offer. Very cool I thought! The reality is that out of the ummmm 200 “video products”, maybe 75 of them were single 5-7 minute videos, another 20 could be part of one course, but were listed as single “video products” (we’re talking 5 minute videos). He said they would be “organized”, and they weren’t. They were listed on one webpage in no particular order for download. And the quality was not high – as a matter of fact, one I couldn’t even hear.
Anyway, my whole point is that I knew this would turn out this way, but I just HAD to buy it because it seemed like such a good deal
But to someone else, this may have been an excellent deal, a great price for a great number of “video products”. It’s just all a matter of interpretation and individual expectations. But I’m mad at myself for knowing this would not meet my expectations – I guess it was just my curiosity that got the best of me!
So, now I’m annoyed and in a bad way with a bunch of videos. My solutions is to try to make the best out of the situation. Try to turn it around and see how I can turn it into a positive without going through the hassle the PayPal dispute resolution process causing myself more stress.
I guess my point today is to try to learn how to look at the positive – whether you have made a purchase you were not happy with, or you have lost a potential customer or you are in the middle of a dispute with a partner. There is always something to learn from each seemingly bad situation! Some lessons are obvious, others might require a little creativity, but you can always learn a lesson
