Squirrels Who Eat Pizza

I snapped this picture of a squirrel eating pizza at the park one day. Now, I’ve never been taught that pizza was part of a squirrel’s diet. I believe I learned they ate acorns or some other types of nuts or grass or something. I also never really thought much about it.  But just because squirrel “gurus” have never written that squirrels eat pizza, doesn’t mean that they don’t or it can never happen.

Now, if you have been looking to make money online I’m sure you’ve heard rules you need to follow. You’ll be slapped by Google if you don’t do this; you can’t make millions if you pick your topic like that; you won’t succeed at all if you don’t buy product XYZ.  So what’s a new info product creator supposed to do? You may be afraid you’re picking the wrong topic or that your sales page will be banned from Google and no one will find it. You may be coerced into spending $100s, $1000s on training programs that will take up your time confusing you, time that can be spent completing your product.

My advice is to decide what your goal is.  You may want to make millions with your products. In that case, you can perhaps benefit from the advice of some of the gurus.  On the flip side, you may not care so much about making millions and simply want to create a product about a topic that you are passionate about – and it might be a topic that the gurus avoid.  So what?  Just because the gurus have researched a niche and found it wasn’t “profitable” enough for them doesn’t mean it can’t be profitable for you!

If you’re an expert on making flower sculptures from dollar bills and want to write about it, then do it!  If you are passionate about it, you will finish it. And there is nothing more motivational and exciting that completing a project and having it up for sale.  After I sold my first ebook, I didn’t really care less if it ever sold again. Someone bought something that I wrote! That was very fulfilling.

So, be a squirrel who eats pizza!  Don’t be afraid to follow your passion and break the guru rules.

    Hi Gwen,

LOL! That’s so funny about the squirrel and it’s great how you tied that together with your message… And your message is powerful and true. I hope everyone listens. Personally I don’t care about making millions. You can be rich and unhappy. I’d rather do what I love and make a good living with it… and everyone can do that if they’re willing to do what it takes.

    Thanks for sharing!

You just said a yummy mouthful!

On the internet, we’re definitely led to believe that this “thing” or that “thing” is the best “thing” since sliced bread (or deep dish pizza with all the toppings!).

Not so. And a lesson that myself and others, I’m sure, have learned at the school of hard knocks is that you can’t design your life or your profession around what others tell you to do.

I spent an entire life savings (ouch) on junk and false promises that almost caused me to throw in the towel. Once I started to zero in on WHO I wanted to serve and HOW I wanted to serve them, everything changed for the better.

    Your spoken-from-the-heart advice is wonderful!

    Hi Deb,

Yes, it just depends on what you want. Some people want a lot, but like you said you can still be unhappy with 10 island homes and 3 Ferraris LOL.

    Hi Melanie,

Thanks so much Melanie. I’m so happy to hear that you really get what I’m saying. Some people don’t see it that way, they only see people who have made millions and that’s what they want so they buy into what they say. But everything doesn’t work for everyone. You have to do what’s right for you and your situation – like you say the people you want to serve. I can’t see my self flooding the internet with more “1 tip for a flat belly” product. We have enough of those LOL

This a very nice set of blogs. Lots of simple but great informative blogs.
What I like about these is that they are easy to put together and pack a lot of punch. Thanks for leading the way.
    Great job!
and in response to Deb’s comment, I would rather be unhappy and very rich … Joan Rivers (I think) said it best, “I’ve been poor and I’ve been rich, and rich is best!” So there. :)
