Wasn’t Sure What to Write About Today…

I know I need to write something, but I didn’t really feel “inspired” to write something useful LOL   So I decided to just do a “general pondering” for today.

A while back I wrote about being addicted to reading. Not MY addiction to reading because if anything, I try to avoid it at all costs.   In any case, this addiction was apparent to me once again last week.  I’m trying to get to work during NYC rush hour in the subway.  A woman of 35ish or 40ish gets of the train, unable to peel her eyes from her book. Literally 100′s of people pile up at the stairs to get out of the subway every morning trying to get to work – it’s a stampede, really.  But this woman is blocking the stampede, distracted by this reading addiction of hers.  She slowly walks up the narrow staircase where we are all being squeezed out, just like toothpaste from a tube.   Finally we all break free from behind her and spill out into the streets.

Now, my being somewhat curious (and annoyed) had to see exactly what book she was reading – what life changing piece of literature would cause her to ignore such a dynamic mob behind her (as equally annoyed as I was, if not more) – what words had her so entranced that we all moved up the stairs out of the subway, step by slow step behind her.

Luckily I caught a glance of the cover of the book, and my eyes focused on the title and the artwork – I could barely wait to fully comprehend the title of this amazing work!!

What was it..?? What was it…?????   HARRY POTTER!  Ugh!!
