Post Hoarding for the Blog Challenge

I admit I’ve been hoarding posts for the blog challenge. Posts that I could have easily put up last week. There were things I wanted to share, but I kept them until after today.  So I admit it!  Well, there were really only two things I wanted to share, so because I feel guilty I will put them in one post.

The first is my interview with Terrie! Terrie is an amazing person, and one heck of an interviewer. I enjoyed every minute of  my interview.

The second is my Search Story that Connie said I can get  extra credit points in class for completing :)

Now, those wouldn’t have been necessarily product creation related posts – or would they? Yes, they are.

My interview with Terrie is an example of an audio product that you can create simply by interviewing someone.  If you can get your favorite mentor, fitness expert, politician, artist or someone else that’s pretty significant in your field to sit down and talk to you for an hour, you can turn this into a product for sale.  You can include a transcription or perhaps a PDF mindmap or checklist as a tool and there you have a very nice audio product for sale.

As for the Search Story.  Have you seen Steve Sponseller’s?  While the search story isn’t a product itself, with Steve’s choice of music and topic (himself), I’d sure be ready to see what he has to offer.  These short videos take all of 30 seconds to create and post onto YouTube.  Using the right keywords, this would be a great way to draw people to your YouTube channel to see your more significant videos – or to the URL of your product if you happen to type that into the video.   The point is as you are creating your product, also think of ways you can use creative (and free) tools to help get the word out.

Thanks Gwen for such an informative post and reminder of how to get the full benefit from a number of things that we might normally over look. You have me thinking about PC in a whole new way. No not Personal Computer, and I do not mean Politically Correct either. I am talking about Product Creation. That is my next challenge. Thanks for the tips to help me along the way.

    Gwen ~

I’ve been saving up a few posts for the challenge myself. But let’s not call it “hoarding” – you know, it has such a negative connotation. :-)

How about if we say this, instead – Gwen and Melanie have been “savoring” some blog posts until just the right moment to share them with the world!

All kidding aside, I’m fascinated with the Search Stories and I can’t wait to sit back and listen to your interview with Terrie! Isn’t she a wonderful human being? I’m so blessed to have met her.

I’ll be back soon – you can count on that!

    Hi Melanie,

LOL ok, “savoring” is a better word :) But I’m starting with a clean slate today – no more “savored” posts! Search Stories are fun and very quick to make, so I hope you can share one of your with us soon.

    Thanks for visiting,
    Gwen

Believe it or not I was just working on a post on hoarding related to blogging but from a different angle. Love that show on TV always motivates me to declutter.

    Gwen,

I enjoyed reading your post and what you refer to as ‘hoarding’ I would call planning ahead and making valuable use of resources. Like Melanie’s ‘savoring’, doesn’t that sound better? :)

As the Product Creation Diva, (my title for you), I am looking forward to the posts you will be creating over the next 29 days.

    Hi Gwen,

While I wasn’t exactly hoarding my blog posts… I just didn’t feel like the time was right for sharing them just yet…

But I did come up with a list of topics for the next 30 days that I can write about. I’m posting that one right now. :-)

    Best Regards

    Hi Rosie,

So did you finish your post? I would love to check it out! I actually have a post on here related to hoarding as well (after I watched Hoarders for the first time) – it really freaked me out. I guess being the opposite (more like Detective Monk with OCD) is definitely more desirable if you have to be at one extreme or the other LOL!

    Thanks for visiting,
    Gwen
