FreeMind Mindmapping Tool In Review

This is a guest post by Vernon! One of my favorite buddies. You can find more wonderfulness from him on his website HighRoadism.

They say that energy is neither created or destroyed it just changes form. The same is true for ideas. There’s nothing new under the sun so ideas will always be on the move into and out of your mind. Mind Mapping is a great way to capture and make sense of all that action going on inside your head.

One of the best free tools to use for this is the Java based FreeMind mindmapping tool. When I was looking for the easiest way to generate, visualize and organize my ideas I found this gem and jumped right in with both feet.

Its an application that runs on your desktop. And to show how easy and versatile it is to use, the documentation is a mind map of itself. How cool is that.

I’m using it to overcome information overload and that feeling of overwhelm that comes when you’re learning more than you’re doing. When its time to get into action mode get your mind map out order your steps (or prioritize: buzzword) and get busy.

This isn’t so convoluted that only geeks can use it either. Its easy to learn and easy to use and once you done looking at what you came up with there’s nothing to it but to do it..

Here is a 10 minute Tutorial that will visually walk you through all the How To’s of using this program. See how it all makes so much sense.

Now go use it to Master The Game Of Life. ;-)
